Hestia offers locally-marketed private sector housing insulation schemes on behalf of our local government partners. These are invariably supported with EEC grants from the energy supply industry that we broker independently for our clients.
From 2008, the energy regulator OFGEM is introducing CERT to replace EEC. The new arrangements should make it easier for energy suppliers to be more flexible in their scheme funding. Achieving growth in interventions with Priority Group customers will become a very important driver for the CERT providers, particularly as challenging targets will nearly double the numbers of low income consumers that need to be helped. CERT suppliers will be looking to interventions like fuel switching (off mains gas), heat pumps and solid wall systems to mitigate the impact of traditional lofts and cavities being harder to find in the Priority Group.
Hestia has expertise in the development of affordable warmth schemes and will continue to forge the supply chain and community partnerships which are key to success in this field of endeavour.
The EnergyWise insulation scheme is co branded with participating local authorities, and Hestia has developed sophisticated direct marketing techniques using segmentation models developed by the Energy Saving Trust and HEON to boost returns and carbon savings
The Energy Efficiency Investors in Tenants scheme is available to all private sector landlords in the West Midlands region and offers grant support for the installation of insulation.
Take the LEAD offers consumers zero interest loans to fund the installation of energy saving or micro generation systems. Based on a revolving loan fund the scheme is one of the most successful of its type in the UK, having lent to hundreds of consumers while enjoying low levels of bad debt.
